  1. My wife and I came to Immanuel Baprist Church in the fall of 1997. Before that, I had grown up in a small town church that was mostly dead with stale preaching. That's one thing I never heard in 10 years with Pastor Ellsworth. I enjoyed our time there and the preaching from the pulpit was the largest part of that.

I can also remember sitting in a hotel room in Bloomington, Illinois with a copy of the pastor's book, Journey to the Cross. I literally had tears running down my face as I pondered more and more what the Lord Jesus actually endured to buy me back!

There is no one involved in the gospel and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ whom I love and respect more than Pastor Roger Ellsworth. Congratulations on 50 years and, most of all, thank you.

  2. Dear Brother Roger,
It is difficult to articulate in a few short sentences the gratitude and appreciation that I have for you. It was truly a privilege - and good grace of God - to sit under your preaching for 10 years. The value of hearing the Gospel and truths of Scripture so faithfully and powerfully preached is immeasurable and I am forever grateful. Your sermons and books continue to bless and minister to me. Congratulations Roger on this incredible milestone in your ministry. May God continue to use you to preach His glorious Gospel and point lost souls to Christ. You and Sylvia will always have a special place in my heart and in my prayers. I love and miss you both.

"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things?"

  3. Roger's books have made me look like a good Sunday School teacher. Thanks for the hard work.

Roger, You have a gift of exposing wrong thinking simply and plainly. You have helped me see Jesus in all the Bible, and then to apply that passage to what I believe and how I act. You are in line with Matthew Henry, John Newton, Ernie Reisinger and others as one of "my" pastors. Thank you so much.
