  3. Dear Roger,

As you know a little book called "Come Down Lord" impacted me greatly and changed my direction in life. Thank you for the friendship that came from that writing and the many talks we have had since then. Thank you for the memorable message of Jesus did something extraordinary when ordinary men took extraordinary measures to meet an extraordinary need! 6. Brother Roger,

Congratulations on 50 years in the ministry. I miss you and hearing your sermons. I am so grateful for the years you were my pastor. I'll never forget the Sunday evening years ago when I joined the church and you baptized me.

  7. Roger....congratulations to you on 50 years in the ministry. To say thank you seems so very inadaquate in expressing how i truly feel of the priviledge of sitting under your ministry for 15 years. They ( your messages) were a constant source of help to me then, and are still a means of strength to me now..... I love you and Sylvia very much...Sondra Cocke

  8. Dear Roger, Wow! That is the description we have given you. You have played such an important part in our Christian walk. I remember wondering if my Merv would ever understand the beautiful plan of Salvation as he sure had not up to the point we met you. One Saturday morning Merv went to town, when he returned He came in And sat on the edge of our tub as I applyed my face of the day @ the Vanity. He was Beaming!! When I looked at him, he said "I've been saved"!, "I just went to talk to Roger and he made it all so clear that I have no Doubt about my salvation now." And I just said WOW!! And then we learned that Sylvia had been praying for Merv for Years as had many others. WOW! Who knew??God, That's who, he sent his servant to us that we might understand his plan for us and his servant delivered! Roger we will always love you and be grateful that you came into our lives, you and Sylvia have both been a Huge Blessing to us and we thank you. Please continue in the work you are so good at. There are many more Merv's out there that need you to bring them the message just the way you did for him. God Bless you and your family. WOW!! Merv & Jeanita

  9. Bro. Roger,

How thankful we are that God led you to Jackson, Tennessee and Parkview. How hungry and thirsty we were for the gospel of Jesus Christ that you have fed us in these past months. Thank you for your faithfulness. We pray you will remain with us for a long time to come.

  10. Pastor Ellsworth:

Our heartfelt thanks to you and your wife for serving our Church. You both are answers to our prayers. My wife and I are over 75 years of age. We have been members of Parkview Baptist Church since we were around sixteen. Pastor's come and Pastor's go, but you are the real deal. God answered our prayers.

We trust you will like us as much as we like both of you.

Thanks again and Congratulations on your 50 years of serving God and your members.

    Roger:

I am so thankful for being able to get to know you in the past few years. Thank you for always making me feel so welcome and cared about since I have become a part of your extended family. You and Sylvia have always extended a wonderfully gracious and loving hand to Jenny and me, for that we are thankful.

Jenny and I want you and Sylvia to know that we are thankful for both of you; your witness, example in life and in the ministry. Your faithfulness, love, wisdom and humility are something that we aspire to.

    With much love,
    Carlton and Jenny

Thank you for 50 years of proclaiming the gospel and being a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. This site brought back many older memories when I first met you and the impact you made on my life. I still have the Bible you and Sis gave me when I graduated from High School. I can only use it as a study Bible as it is so worn it cannot be carried to church. However I have learned may things from it. May God richly bless you.

  15. Roger,
You are still the voice in my head for practical, biblical thinking. I enjoyed working for you, even though it wasn't for long and we were on our way to Florida. I still would love to see you and Sylvia(We still have spring training down here!) This is a great tribute to what the Lord has done in your life. He has used you in many ways and in many lives. I want to thank you for all the support and prayers you have given to me and my family. It is amazing to me how God works. My son-in-law, Paul and your son Tim met and have a relationship. It is a blessing to me to know that they have a connection through our Lord and us. Gordon and I thank you for all you do and have done in our lives. May God bless you and Sylvia.
